THE JOY OF BEING LAZY

Despite all ills laziness comes with, it's still wonderful to be lazy. Laziness is a quality with which I’m blessed abundantly. And many of us don’t even know that they are bestowed upon with such a wonderful blessing. Has anyone ever thought what actually laziness mean?? I guess many of us are lazy to even think about it. Laziness is nothing more than a habit of resting before you actually get tired. Laziness is when you do not follow what is being told to you. Laziness is when you do not check out what’s new in new things. Laziness is when you do take the time to learn every feature available to you. Laziness is when you do not do it the quick and messed up way. Laziness is when you do not start coding before even understanding what the problem really is. The problem with laziness is that you cannot teach anyone about it. Neither you can make people become lazy nor you can make people to quit being lazy. We simply are inherent of laziness.
Laziness is often thought to be a disease but let me tell you there are many advantages of being lazy. Being lazy saves 50% of a day’s energy. For example if a person is working on his laptop and he is too lazy to put it in its bag and place it in his cupboard before going to sleep, he will simply put it on his side table. Next day when he gets up it flashes through his mind that he has to make an assignment. Now he does not have to look for pen and pepper and go to writing table and start writing. Even for laptop he does not need to go and open his cupboard and look for laptop. Instead he can have his laptop on the side table and start writing and save his energy. In the same way if he keeps all the books and other stuff readily available around him, he can save a huge amount of energy that he may have spent in first placing the things at “right place” and then going in search of them to the right place. Seeing a mess around is no big cost of saving a huge amount of energy. So relish the joy of being lazy and save your life energy.
Everyone wants to live a long life and for that one needs to be lazy. Life is especially good in a zoo. This theory is confirmed by a comparison of animals in the wild versus animals in captivity. In the Serengeti, lions live only 8 to 10 years. Lions in the zoo, on the other hand, can live up to 20 years. Polar bears in the Arctic do not generally live longer than 20 years, but in captivity they live up to 40 years. Of course, medical care is better in a zoo than in wild, but the main contrast in the different way of life. While wild animals cover several kilometers a day in search of food, and consequently are under a great deal of stress, zoo animals lead a very restful and relaxed life. Their range of movement is at minimum so they enjoy much longer life as a benefit of being lazy. Worker bee lives only up to 6 months while the idle queen bee lives up to 20 years. A rabbit runs, jumps, moves as fast as he can and lives only 5 years, a turtle on the other hand, never bothers to run and do exercises for physical fitness but enjoys life being lazy and lives 150 years. For a happy, healthy and long life stay relaxed and bother not doing exercise or anything. Just stay cool, calm and lazy.
Isn’t it good to know that most of the great inventions are the due to the result of laziness? All the development and progress in human history is the result of laziness. Laziness can be thought of lack the motivation that is preventing you to be productive in some kind of work. The motive behind all the inventions was to provide ease and comfort to mankind. In the process of fighting with laziness, people have come up with all the great inventions. Would you like to see an example?

How about a “Computer”?
If you can think about the reason behind inventing a computer, you will definitely appreciate the benefits of laziness.
You want another?
How about a “Bicycle”?
You can assume this was invented by the people and for who are lazy to walk longer distances.

“I don’t think necessity is the mother of invention – invention, in my opinion, arises directly from idleness, possibly also from laziness. To save oneself trouble.”
- Agatha Christie, Mistery Author

Back in the 17th Century, one of the foundation stones of modern science was laid
down in Pinkleton’s Primary Postulate (nowadays more commonly known as
Newton’s First Law). This asserts that “Everybody continues in its state of rest
unless it is compelled to change that state by forces impressed on it”. The universal
truth revealed by this fundamental law is that the state of rest is the most pure and
natural of all states. What is laziness if not the physical manifestation of the desire to
remain in that pure and natural state? It is the spiritual quest for perfection. Surely the
most noble of the goals.
Has anyone ever thought of the greatest benefit of being lazy? Laziness saves money and makes you rich. It may seem absurd and meaningless at first but it is true that laziness can make a person rich. It improves one’s imagination power too. Take the example of an active person. If he plans to do shopping he will do it and decrease his bank balance. If he plans to go for a world tour, he will spend so much money on it and waste his energy and time. While if a lazy person plans a world tour he would be too wise to spend money over it. He will relish his sleep and go on a tour in his dreams. In this way he improves his imagination and raises his financial status as well. He is always too lazy to go for shopping, too lazy to buy clothes of latest fashion trends, too lazy to adopt what the world offers. This habit gives him contentment. He keeps himself satisfied with whatever he has and gets the rest through his powerful imagination. He is a happier and richer person than a practically active man.
Laziness is not a disease. It gives you plenty of time to enjoy. It saves your money. It makes you a calm, happy and healthy person. It is in fact mother of all inventions. Lazy people are contributing a lot in the existence and development of mankind so please; acknowledge the virtue of our chosen path. Show us the respect we deserve. Cherish us, revere us, tend for us, and then, most important of all, stop bothering us, so that we can continue to provide our crucial role in the survival of mankind and the planet itself.
